Anyone with a jeep, buggy, side by side or any vehicle for that matter, is asked to bring it out Saturday and take part in the Cruisin for First Responders event, which is being hosted by the Bellmore Fire Department.
Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Bellmore Station 92, 4936 S 1000 East, Brazil, with the ride leaving after registration at 11 a.m. The cost is $30 per vehicle.
Amanda Reed, of the Bellmore Fire Department, told The Parke County Post the event is one of many fundraisers the department puts on during the year.
"We are real big into doing events. We do a lot of fundraising, and the funds raised go towards trainings we may need, and equipment that we can use. This event is a jeep, buggy ride and we welcome all jeeps, buggies, side by sides and ATVs. If you don't have one of those and you still want to participate, go right ahead. We will take whatever," Reed said.
In addition to the ride, there will be vendors, raffles and a 50/50, according to Reed.
"Registration has been slow, but good, as well. We would like to see more, but we will also take people the day of the event. If you pull up and want in, we will take you. Having the support of the community is vital, and we really strive on the support from our community. Without these fundraisers, it makes it hard, and it is a struggle," Reed said.
