Amanda Petrucelli has announced her candidacy for the Center Township Advisory Board, running on the Democratic ticket in the upcoming election.
Petrucelli, a Plymouth resident since 2001, brings experience in education, public service, and community leadership to the race.
Petrucelli holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and English from Indiana University Bloomington. She has worked in both K-12 and higher education, serving as a librarian at Jefferson Elementary School and marketing director at Ancilla College.
She currently works as a business development and marketing coordinator at Lawson-Fisher Associates, where she supports public-sector outreach and communications.
In the 1990s, Petrucelli worked in a clerical role at a LaPorte County Township Trustee's office, providing her with early exposure to township government operations.
A former U.S. Peace Corps volunteer, Petrucelli has held leadership positions in several Plymouth-area organizations, including President of the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce, President of Tri Kappa, and a board member of Potawatomi Wildlife Park and other nonprofit organizations.
Petrucelli has been married to her husband, Mike, for 27 years. The couple's son, Calvin, and daughter, Madeline, are graduates of Plymouth High School and Culver Academies, as well as Indiana University.
In her campaign announcement, Petrucelli stated her belief that township government should be "practical, respectful, and fair — protecting dignity while carefully stewarding public resources."
The Democratic primary will be held in May 2026, with the general election scheduled for November 2026.
The Center Township Advisory Board works alongside the township trustee to oversee township operations, including fire protection, poor relief, and cemeteries. Advisory board members serve four-year terms.
