911 hang-up leads to Logansport man being arrested for animal cruelty, invasion of privacy, a warrant

Officers with the Plymouth Police Department were dispatched to McDonald's, at 2010 N. Michigan Street, Saturday at 8:30 p.m. for a 911 hang-up.

Central Dispatch told city responding officers that they got the caller back on the line, and they advised there was a male subject in the parking lot hitting a female party, and that the male was now hitting a dog.

As Plymouth Police arrived, a vehicle was leaving. An officer got behind the vehicle with their emergency lights on, but it didn't stop until it reached the North Michigan Street and U.S. 30 on-ramp.

During the investigation, it was determined that the male party was Alexander McDaniel, 30, of Logansport. He was wanted on a warrant out of Pulaski County.

The female didn't want to really talk with the police and said that McDaniel never hit her.

According to witnesses, the male had hit the dog.

McDaniel was taken into custody and transported to Marshall County Jail. He was booked in for his warrant, invasion of privacy, and animal cruelty and held on a $500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed, and that there is only probable cause to believe it has. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
