The Plymouth Fire Department and officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to a three-vehicle accident on U.S. 30 and Queen Road Tuesday afternoon at 3:53 that seriously injured one driver.
Deputy Rob Hafke was the investigating officer and found a semi rolled over in the median with its load spread across the highway.

A 2023 Peterbilt semi-driven by 56-year-old James Doye was eastbound on U.S. 30 at the Queen Road intersection when it hit a 2011 Honda Civic driven by Victor Villanueva-Seville that was southbound on Queen Road. The Honda Civic then struck a 2021 Jeep Cherokee driven by 28-year-old Lexi Simpson, who was waiting on Lincoln Highway to go north on Queen Road.

All three vehicles ended up in the median, and the semi rolled and lost its load across the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30, causing the road to be closed for nearly six hours.

Simpson and a passenger in her vehicle were transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Villanueva Seville was airlifted from the scene to the Memorial Hospital’s trauma center. The semi-driver, James Doye, was not injured.
The crash report does not indicate the cause of the crash.
