On Monday, August 25th, Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester announced that its computer network was accessed unlawfully in June. In response, they promptly took measures to verify the network's security and determine the cause of the incident. During the investigation, they discovered that files on their computer network were copied without permission between June 25 and June 30.
The files contained information used for managing Woodlawn Hospital’s facilities. This information includes details such as name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license or other state ID numbers, medical information related to healthcare, and health insurance data. Woodlawn has since begun a thorough review of the files identified as at risk to determine the type of information involved and to whom it pertains. This review is still ongoing. Woodlawn will notify individuals once the data review is finished.
If individuals have questions about this matter, Woodlawn offers a dedicated assistance line with agents ready to answer. Call toll-free at 877-332-1724, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. CT, excluding holidays.
Individuals may consider staying vigilant against identity theft and fraud by reviewing their account statements and monitoring their free credit reports for suspicious activity and errors.
