A Shelby County man was sentenced on child molestation charges.
On January 8, Larry Allen Williams was sentenced to 24 years in the Department of Corrections.
In the spring of 2025, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department was contacted regarding a young child stating that Williams had inappropriately touched her on two separate occasions. This investigation was forwarded to the Columbus Police Department for further investigation. Detectives with the Columbus Police Department continued the investigation, concluding that Williams had committed those crimes earlier that year.
Williams pled guilty on November 17, 2025, to two counts of child molesting, both Level 4 Felonies. Evidence was heard at a sentencing hearing. Judge Kelly Benjamin of the Bartholomew Circuit Court sentenced Williams to the maximum 12 years on each count, to be served consecutively.
