Thursday, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) issued the following statement on confirmed reports that Israel eliminated Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza:
"Almost exactly one year after the worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust, the evil mastermind behind the October 7 atrocities has now been eliminated. The world is safer for it, and I applaud everyone involved in bringing this terrorist monster to justice.
"If Kamala Harris had her way, this successful operation would have never taken place, as she urged Israel not to go into Rafah and she and her administration have repeatedly undermined our closest ally in the Middle East.
"With their leader no longer of this Earth, Hamas must release all the remaining hostages, and America must back Israel to the fullest as they finish the job."
