The Vincennes Police Department (VPD) has made an arrest of a suspect in the investigation of a recent rash of vehicle thefts.
Thursday, May 7th, a patrol officer spotted a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu operating in the area of Washington Avenue that matched the description of a vehicle previously reported as stolen. He attempted to make contact with the vehicle as it entered the Indian Mound Apartments located off of Washington Avenue.
As the officer approached, the male driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot through the apartment complex and nearby area. He was taken into custody without incident and was later identified as 19-year-old David Seth Sutton of Vincennes.
He was transported to the Knox County Jail and was preliminarily charged with Theft and Resisting Law Enforcement.
