Two men from out of town were arrested on driving-related charges following separate traffic stops conducted by the Plymouth Police Department on Wednesday morning, April 22nd. Both incidents occurred near the intersection of U.S. 30 and Michigan Street.
The first incident occurred at approximately 8:15 a.m. when Officer Krynock initiated a traffic stop on U.S. 30 at Michigan Street for a traffic infraction. During the stop, officers determined that the driver, identified as 45-year-old Lucio Tepo Tecaxco of Warsaw, had never received a driver's license. Tecaxco was taken into custody and lodged at the Marshall County Jail.
Just over three hours later, at 11:30 a.m., Patrolman Thornton conducted a second traffic stop near the U.S. 30 off-ramp heading north onto Michigan Street. While speaking with the driver, 32-year-old Ennis Earl Dunning III of Fort Wayne, the officer discovered that Dunning was operating the vehicle with a suspended license.
Dunning was subsequently arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of driving while suspended with a prior conviction.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
