A narcotics investigation led to the execution of a search warrant and arrest by SWAT in Greenwood.
On Thursday, members of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office executed an active search warrant at 1382 South Morgantown Road, in Greenwood.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division reports that it received credible information regarding illegal activities occurring at this residence. Detectives conducted a thorough investigation to confirm these allegations.
During the search, detectives located illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia inside the residence. The occupant, Kanji Edison, was taken into custody and is facing pending charges. All evidence and case details will be presented to the Johnson County Prosecutor's Office for review and possible criminal charges.
Sheriff Duane Burgess emphasized that this operation sends a clear message: criminal activity of this nature will not be tolerated in Johnson County.
This operation was a joint effort involving multiple agencies. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team, which executed the search warrant, is composed of members from the following agencies:
