Touch a truck, ask questions and get ready for Fire Prevention Month this Saturday at Rochester Fire Department.
Rochester Fire Department kicks off National Fire Prevention Month with an open house from noon-3 p.m Saturday, with something for the whole family.
The goal of Fire Prevention Month and week, Oct. 3-9, is to raise fire safety awareness, and help ensure your home and family is protected. The fire department is doing that by invited all to come to the station, 2006 E. State Road 14, to visit with local emergency services and other agencies that serve the community.
Attendees will see fire trucks and a Parkview Health helicopter, learn about fire prevention and meet firefighters. There also will be an obstacle course for children, carseat checks by Lutheran Health and an extrication demonstration.
Special guests include Parkview EMS, Lutheran EMS, Parkview Samaritan, Rochester Police Department, Fulton County Sheriff's Office and Fulton County Emergency Management Agency.
