The Mt Carmel City Council is moving forward with plans to build a new hanger facility. They recently approved the project design for the building to be located at it's airport located northwest of St. Francisville in southern Lawrence County. The cost for the hanger which will house between 8 and 9 planes is around $1.5 million. It would be primarily funded through federal grant money. The city itself is expected to kick in an estimated $90,000 as part of the projected cost at the next monthly council session. No other details regarding the project have yet been released.
