The Marshall County Soil & Water Conservation District is bringing an important conversation about the future of farming and food to the big screen this month. In partnership with The REES Theatre, the district is presenting a free screening of the acclaimed documentary Common Ground on Thursday, July 16th at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Incredible Indiana Summer Film Series.
Common Ground is a follow-up to the widely praised documentary Kiss the Ground and takes audiences deeper into the growing regenerative agriculture movement. The film features farmers, ranchers, scientists, educators, and community advocates exploring how healthy soil can transform food systems, strengthen local economies, restore the environment, and build a more sustainable future. It is an ultimately hopeful film — one that shows how individuals and communities working together can make a real and lasting difference on the land and beyond.
The Marshall County Soil & Water Conservation District's involvement in bringing this film to Plymouth reflects the organization's ongoing commitment to educating the community about responsible land stewardship and sustainable agricultural practices. With agriculture playing such a central role in the fabric of Marshall County life, Common Ground offers a timely and relevant message for farmers, landowners, students, and concerned citizens alike.
Thanks to the generous partnership of the Marshall County Soil & Water Conservation District, admission to the screening is completely free. Whether you are an agricultural professional, an environmental advocate, or simply someone curious about where your food comes from and how the land around you is managed, this is an evening well worth your time.
While tickets are free, guests are encouraged to reserve their seats in advance due to limited availability. Reservations can be made online at reestheatre.org.
The REES Theatre is located at 100 N. Michigan Street in downtown Plymouth.
