The Marshall County Council will convene tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building, with a packed agenda that includes a financial outlook presentation, subcommittee updates, and several key votes.
Among the evening's highlights, financial consultant Steve Dalton of Cender Dalton will address the council to detail projected future county revenues and outline the potential financial impact of ongoing litigation — a topic likely to draw close attention from council members navigating the county's long-term budget planning.
Council members will also receive updates from three subcommittees: Budget/Finance, Highway, and Job Classification and Compensation.
Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel is scheduled to appear before the council with two items. He will request approval to apply for the 2027 CHIRP Grant and will present the Commissary Fund report, including receipts and disbursements from the first quarter of the year.
On the legislative side, the council will consider ordinances related to additional appropriations, transfer appropriations, and an additional appropriation for Solid Waste Management. Members are also expected to approve the Lebbin Law invoice and review Compliance forms for tax abatements involving four entities: Homestead Dairy, Houin Family Farms, Center Street Properties, and Faulkner Fabricating.
Tonight's Marshall County Council meeting is open to the public and will be streamed live on the county's YouTube channel.
