Lawrence County Chief Assessment Officer Sheila Schnepper has announced a farmland public hearing.
The Farmland Assessment Review Committee will hold the hearing on Tuesday, May 13th at 8:15 a.m. in the Lawrence County Courthouse Annex located on Jefferson Street in downtown Lawrenceville.
The 2026 assessments of Lawrence County farmland will be the topic of discussion. Farmland in the state of Illinois is assessed differently than regular property through a different formula. The meeting is open to the public.
