The process toward getting a new animal control warden for Lawrence County is now underway.

The Lawrence County Board Building and Grounds Committee met in a special session Friday afternoon at the courthouse in downtown Lawrenceville. They immediately entered into executive session and proceeded to interview four candidates-three females and one male for the vacant position for over an hour. After the interviews were completed, the committee emerged from executive session and took no action. Committee chairman Tom Robinson told GIANT-FM News that they will hold another round of candidate interviews at a future meeting before making a firm decision.

The county is seeking a replacement for Maggie Carter, who was terminated in January.
