An arrest a person shot and killed in Johnson County.
Just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, the Greenwood Police Department responded to the 800 block of Dover Drive in the Westminster Apartments on a report of shots fired. Officers found a 22-year-old Greenwood resident unconscious with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was then transported to Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect, later identified as Isiah Q. Peak Jr, 21, of Indianapolis, had gotten into an altercation with another individual. During that altercation it was reported that Peak Jr. brandished a firearm and shot at the other individual, missing that individual and striking the uninvolved victim. After shooting the victim the
suspect fled the scene.
During the course of the subsequent investigation Greenwood detectives with the help of the Indiana State
Police and the US Marshals Service gathered intelligence which indicated that the suspect was located in a
room at the Inn Town Suites located in the area of Interstate 70 and Post Road in Indianapolis. Greenwood
SWAT responded to the Inn Town Suites and took the suspect into custody without further incident.
The suspect is currently being held without bail in the Johnson County Jail pending review by the Johnson
County Prosecutors Office.
This case is still active and ongoing and any further questions should be directed to
the Johnson County Prosecutors Office.
At this time the victims name is not being released pending notification of next of kin by the Marion County
Coroners Office.
