Caston School Corp. honored local veterans on Monday, Nov. 11, with their annual Veterans Day program that highlighted their service for our country and free muffins, pastries and coffee. This year's speaker for the event was retired Air Force Pilot Al Miller, who spoke to students about the importance of our military and the cost of freedom.

A 1960 Rochester High School graduate, after attending Ball State University on a military, academic and football scholarship for four years, Miller eventually joined the Air Force and in 1965 received his wings during a pinning ceremony in Texas. Miller would continue his military career for the next 28 years. Miller now lives three miles west of Fulton, and although retired, says he will never forget his military roots.
