Lawrence County States Attorney Brady Waldrop announced that two local men were given prison terms during recent appearances in court.
49 year old Cornelius Hightower of Lawrenceville was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, a Class 3 Illinois felony.
He was handed 3 1/2 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) along with 6 months of mandatory supervised release.
51 year old Rusty Turner of Lawrenceville was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class 4 Illinois felony.
He was found guilty by a Lawrence County jury after a trial in January.
Turner was given 4 years in the IDOC along with 6 months of mandatory supervised release.
