The Plymouth Plan Commission gave the green light last week to a two-lot minor subdivision application for a nearly 30-acre property located at 1221 Elm Street.
Submitted by property owners Lisa and Art Jacobs, the newly approved development will be officially named "Jacobs Estates."
The project involves subdividing the land to carve out a 3.32-acre lot specifically designated for a new home and outbuildings. According to the application, this smaller parcel is being prepared for future annexation into the Plymouth city limits. The remaining 25.5 acres of the property will be preserved for agricultural use.
City Plan Director Ty Adley confirmed to the commission that the subdivision meets all minimum lot standards required under the area's R-2 Rural Residential zoning. Adley also noted that while city utilities have been successfully extended to service the new 3.32-acre residential lot, there are no utility extensions planned for the residual agricultural land.
Prior to the final vote, the Plan Commission opened the floor for a public hearing regarding the application. No comments or questions were presented by the public.
Following the hearing, the commission officially approved the minor subdivision for Art and Lisa Jacobs with a unanimous 7-0 vote.
