Two people were hospitalized Monday afternoon after their vehicle drove off the roadway and rolled down a steep embankment at the intersection of Glenn Overmyer Drive and Oakhill Avenue in Plymouth.
Emergency responders with the Plymouth Fire Department, Plymouth Police Department, and Marshall County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:44 p.m. Monday following a report of someone possibly yelling for help in a wooded area.
First responders initially had difficulty locating the source of the calls for help. Upon further investigation, crews discovered a van that had left the roadway at the intersection, rolled over, and came to rest down a deep embankment.
The two occupants of the vehicle were extricated from the wreckage and transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately available.
The incident remains under investigation.
