State Senator Mike Bohacek (R-Michiana Shores) announced that the Indiana Senate will begin accepting applications for the 2025 Senate Page Program Sunday.
Through the full-day program, students in grades 6-12 tour Indiana’s Statehouse, listen to debates and help staff with age-appropriate tasks. They also have the chance to meet their state senator.
"Participating in the Page Program is a great way for students to learn more about their role in the legislative process," Bohacek said. "I always enjoy introducing civic-minded young people to state government, and I encourage all those eligible to apply."
The Senate Page Program will begin in January and is expected to run through early April. Pages are scheduled during the legislative session on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. They start their day at 8:30 a.m. and are dismissed at 3:30 p.m. Groups serve together on Wednesdays. Indiana law permits eligible students to serve as a Senate Page one day per legislative session and receive an excused absence from school for their participation. Positions fill quickly, so it is essential to apply early.
When completing the application, students can request the day they would like to page. Once the application is submitted, the Senate Page Office will contact them to confirm the paging date and ensure all required participation forms are signed.
