Riddell National Bank makes new scoreboard reality for Parke Heritage

From now on, when Parke Heritage takes the field at home, they will be looking to put up points on a brand-new scoreboard made possible by Riddell National Bank.

Through generous support, Riddell National Bank provided the scoreboard, which brings a smile to the face of head football coach Dan Rector. 

"It really looks sharp. A lot of thanks to Riddell National Bank for doing that. It really looks great, and was a need. We have had an issue the last couple years with our play clocks being on the fritz from time to time, and the old scoreboard was to the point where when something would go down, they didn't make the replacement parts anymore. It was time, and what a sharp product that is," Rector told The Parke County Post.

The new scoreboard has brought some enthusiasm to the program, as the Wolves look to move to 2-1 on the season Friday when it hosts South Vermillion.

"The kids were excited. Everyone at the school was looking out there all week, and it has brought some excitement. I'm glad to see it," Rector said. 

Rector said the new scoreboard is a sign of the support the community and small businesses have put forth for the entire Parke Heritage athletic department. 

"It really is. Every year, different people step up in different ways. This year, Riddell National Bank did with the scoreboard and Kirby Foods has donated a ton of Gatorade to our school, and that is something that has been a big blessing. Every Thursday, we do a team meal and we have parents bring food for that. That's not cheap, especially when it's every week. There's been numerous donations back through the past with our boosters, but it has been great for us. I have had the experience of coaching at a 5A school, couple 3A schools, in Indianapolis, and Eastern Indiana, and we are Class A school, but you look at it, and our facilities are much nicer than those. We have been very blessed with the support we have had from our community," Rector said.
