
Stg. Taberski with the Plymouth Police Department was south bound on Michigan Street at Jefferson Street, on Sunday, April 20th at about 11:30 p.m. when he observed a vehicle make a left turn on a red light, stopped for the red traffic signal. All three southbound lanes had red lights.
The black Ford Escape was in the eastbound turn lane next to the officer and made an eastbound turn onto Jefferson Street on the red arrow. The city officer entered the intersection and proceeded after the vehicle. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on Jefferson St. east of the bridge.
The driver was identified as 25-year-old Jarquin Terencio-De Jesus of Plymouth by his passport. He was found to not have a license through Indiana or his home country. He was then placed under arrest, transported to Marshall County and lodged for operator never licensed/possessing a false government identification.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
