The Marshall County Commissioners are gearing up for a busy start to the week with a packed agenda scheduled for their upcoming Monday morning meeting.
The meeting will take place on Monday, April 6th, at 8:30 a.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building. The session is open to the public and will also be streamed live on the county’s official YouTube channel for those unable to attend in person.
A major item on Monday's docket includes the opening of bids for the 2026 Community Crossing Matching Grant road projects, a crucial step for upcoming local infrastructure improvements. The Commissioners will also review Public Safety Grant requests submitted by the Argos Fire Territory and the Bourbon Fire Department.
Attendees can expect several key presentations and updates. Superior II Court Judge Matthew Aldridge is scheduled to brief the Commissioners on the ongoing courtroom technology project. Additionally, the board will hear from the CEO of Chesco Energy. The privately held company focuses on supporting the growing U.S. economy's need for new electric power supplies through natural gas-fired facilities utilizing combustion turbine technology.
Other notable items on the agenda include:
- Consideration of a prepayment request from the Health Department to Cottage Watchman for security improvements.
- Reviewing an engagement agreement with Baker Tilly regarding the Owner-Occupied Housing Grant.
- Discussing an estimate for a new Surveyor vehicle.
- Considering an amendment to the county's agreement with ViaPath Technologies, a provider of integrated, secure platforms designed to safeguard correctional staff and
- Consideration of a county Sick Bank request.
Standard departmental reports from the County Attorney and County Auditor will also be presented. As with all regular meetings, time will be allotted for public comments, allowing community members to address the Commissioners directly.
Following the regular meeting, the Commissioners will conduct an executive session with the purpose of receiving information for interviews and negotiations with an industrial prospect.
