Governor Mike Braun has directed flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Captain Seth Koval, who was killed in action overseas in support of Operation Epic Fury on March 12.
Captain Koval served as a machinist with the 122nd Fighter Wing of the Indiana Air National Guard. After graduating from Purdue University, he transferred to the Ohio Air National Guard as a combat pilot and instructor.
"Maureen and I are praying for the family and loved ones of Capt. Seth R. Koval of Mooresville, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation in uniform. Capt. Koval answered the call to defend our freedoms, and his courage and service will never be forgotten. All Hoosiers join in honoring his life and keeping his family, fellow Airmen, and the Mooresville community in our prayers." - Governor Mike Braun
Governor Braun has ordered flags to be lowered statewide at all state facilities from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, April 4, 2026, as the family honors the remarkable life of Captain Seth Koval.
