The report of an impaired driver on Friday afternoon, August 16th sent county police officers to U.S. 31 and State Road 110.
At approximately 4:00 PM a K-9 deputy with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the report of a possibly impaired driver traveling northbound on US 31. The deputy eventually located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the area of U.S. 31 and 5A Road.
The driver was identified as 29-year-old Cache Morris of Indianapolis and during the traffic stop, suspected narcotics, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle.
Morris was suspected of operating a vehicle while intoxicated by a controlled substance and transported to Plymouth Hospital for a chemical test. Upon doing so, Cache was then transported to the Marshall County Jail. Morris was booked for possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle with a controlled substance in the body. Cashe was held on a $1,505 cash bond that was paid at 9:30 p.m. Friday and released.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
