Brandon Tancak, Brice Howell resign from Cloverdale Town Board

GIANT fm News has confirmed that both Brandon Tancak, Cloverdale Town Board President, and Brice Howell, Cloverdale Town Board Vice President, have resigned their seats effective immediately.

Both took to social media to make the announcement.
Tancak said after a lot of thought and discussions with his family, he has made the "difficult decision" to suspend his campaign effective immediately. Tancak was running for re-election and was facing a challenge from Daphne Rutenberg.

"Serving our community has truly been an honor. I’m proud of the work we have accomplished together and grateful for the opportunity to have had a voice in decisions that impact our town. I care deeply about this community and always did my best to serve with integrity and dedication. However, over time the level of disrespectful comments, hate speech, and personal attacks has taken a toll, not just on me, but on my family as well. My family will always come first, and I can no longer continue to put them through the negativity that has come with this role and campaign," Tancak said.

Tancak said the decision to resign and suspend his campaign was one that saddened him.

"I truly believe in serving our community and hope that respectful dialogue can return to local conversations. Thank you to those who supported me, worked alongside me, and encouraging me throughout my time on the council. I am proud of what we accomplished together and will always be grateful for the experience," Tancak said.

Howell echoed those sentiments.

"This is not an easy decision but one that I believe to be in the best interest of my family. The amount of personal, and in most cases completely unfounded and false narratives, that have been made against us as a board is something I no longer choose to subject myself to. We did a lot of good in a few years. Damn shame that several members of the community truly can’t see that," Howell said.

This is a breaking story and will be updated as necessary.
