Shelbyville baseball scored in five of the seven innings Tuesday to defeat Delta, 7-2.
The win was the third straight for the Golden Bears (7-6, 2-5 Hoosier Heritage Conference) and pushed their record above .500.
Delta dropped to 8-5 (4-5 HHC) with the loss. The two teams play again tonight at Barnett Field in Shelbyville.
Aiden Smith (2-1) earned the win, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out eight in four innings. Both Delta runs scored off Smith were unearned.
Reece Prickett pitched the final three innings and did not allow a run.
Gavin Reed had three hits and drove in three runs. Smith also had three hits.
Dalton Jones had two hits and two RBI. Wes Bailey delivered a two-run triple.
