Shelbyville’s swim teams debuted Tuesday at Whiteland.
The Warriors won the boys meet, 92-77, and the girls meet, 116-60.
Shelbyville senior Riley Everette, a state finalist last season in the 100-yard butterfly, won two events Tuesday. She finished first in the 50 freestyle in 26.00 seconds and first in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.08.
Shelbyville’s only other individual win in the girls meet came from Anne Marie Fansler in the 100 breaststroke in 1:19.23.
The Golden Bears also won the 200 freestyle relay. The quartet of Naomi Garringer, Fansler, Kat Seal and Paige Bohman touched the wall first in 1:59.62.
Garringer finished second in the 200 freestyle (2:21.8) and the 100 backstroke (1:12.26).
Meeghen Bushfield finished runner-up in the 100 freestyle (1:03.22).
The Golden Bears won three events in the boys meet and produced several runner-up finishes.
Anderson Mollenkopf took first in the 100 backstroke in 1:06.33. Shia Veach won the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.25.
John Turner scored 134.5 points to take first place in the diving competition.
Producing runner-up finishes were Brody Jeanette in the 200 freestyle (1:57.96) and 500 freestyle (5:28.92), Mollenkopf in the 100 freestyle (57.96), Everett Stegemiller in the 50 freestyle (25.92) and 100 butterfly (1:04.52), and Kendryk Pike in the 100 breaststroke (1:27.62).

At Garrett Gymnasium in Shelbyville, the host Golden Bears built a 21-11 lead after one quarter and never trailed again against a potential sectional opponent and future Hoosier Legends Conference foe.
The lead grew to 36-19 at halftime and held at 44-31 after three quarters.
Jayla Ash, who made three three-pointers, and Hannah Baker, 6-for-6 at the free throw line, led the Golden Bears (4-1) with 17 points apiece and combined for 17 rebounds. Savannah Collins finished with 14 points.
Seven different Hornets scored but none reached double digits. Sage Yeary and Harmony Burks each scored nine points.
The Hornets dropped to 5-3 this season.
Shelbyville won the junior varsity game, 40-30.
The Golden Bears are off until Dec. 2 when they travel to Columbus North (6-0).
