The Red Hill Lady Salukis have advanced in the 2026 Midland Trail Conference (MTC) softball tournament with a thrilling win in the opening round Monday evening at Westall Field in Bridgeport.
They led 5-4 over Bluford in the top of the 7th inning but gave up 3 runs to fall behind 7-5 heading into the bottom of the 7th. With one on and two outs, Chloe Seed blasted a two-run homer to tie the game at 7 and send it into extra innings.
They then won the game on a base-loaded walk in the bottom of the 8th inning to nip Bluford 8-7. The winning rally consisted of a hit batter, a single, a walk to load the bases and then another free pass to notch the win.
The win was the 5th in a row for Red Hill who are now 9-8 on the season. They will play #3 state-ranked Waltonville Wednesday at Waltonville.
