New Palestine, Eastern Hancock and Mt. Vernon advanced out of the golf sectional played Monday at Hawk’s Tail of Greenfield.
The top three finishing teams and the top three individual finishers not on an advancing team qualified for Thursday’s regional at The Players Club in Muncie.
New Palestine won the sectional with a 302 team score. Eastern Hancock (309) finished seven shots back, and two shots ahead of Mt. Vernon (311).
Triton Central (365) placed eighth in the sectional. Morristown (423) finished 11th.
Shenandoah’s Grady Drysdale (76), New Castle’s Elijah Blankinship (77) and Greenfield-Central’s McCoy Wilson (77) advanced as individuals.
Eastern Hancock’s Parker Atkins was crowned sectional champion with the low round of 68.
Hayden Beaver led Triton Central with an 83. Also competing for the Tigers were Max Crouse (92), Corbin Beaver (94), Colton Ayres (96) and Ryder Trimble (102).
Eli Graves topped Morristown’s scorecard with an 85. Kellen Crim followed at 96. Also competing were Ethan Tryon (119), Collin Palmer (123) and Evan Ensminger (135).
