Shelbyville finished 11th at the Providence Regional and Waldron’s Blake Bryant failed to make the state finals cut bringing an end to the high school golf season in Shelby County.
The top three finishing teams and the top three individuals not on an advancing team qualified for the IHSAA State Finals played at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel beginning Tuesday.
Center Grove (298), Franklin (308) and Floyd Central (309) posted the top team scores Thursday at Champions Pointe Golf Course in Henryville. Also advancing individually were Batesville’s Jonathan Moody (71), Providence’s Eli Casey (72) and Corydon Central’s Evan Bennett (74).
Moody posted the low score of the regional to be crowned medalist.
Shelbyville shot 347 to finish 11th in the 15-team field.
Carter Dunagan led the Golden Bears with an 84. Logan Tobian followed at 85. Ethan Hughes and Logan Prickett each carded 89 and Kameron Holland shot 99.
Bryant posted a 99 for Waldron.
