Sam Collier threw for three touchdowns and ran for another score to lead Class 2A, No. 10 Triton Central to a 40-0 victory Friday over Covenant Christian.
The game was delayed at halftime when lightning rolled into Shelby County. Rather than wait out a lengthy delay, both teams agreed to end the ball game after 24 minutes.
Zeke Robertson opened the game with a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and he had two more touchdown receptions from Collier, who completed 9 of 11 pass attempts against the Warriors (0-5, 0-3 Indiana Crossroads Conference).
Chase Chandler had the other touchdown reception to help the Tigers (3-2, 2-1 ICC) cap off Homecoming week with a win.
Triton Central will travel to Indianapolis Ritter for a week six matchup with the Raiders. The game was announced as being played at Marian University but has now been switched to Ritter’s campus facility, according to Triton Central head coach Tim Able.
