The Vincennes University Board of Trustees met this week and were updated on the work being done to improve the look of the campus.
One of the major projects underway is the upgrading of Beckes Park located on the main campus at Vincennes. It is located near the Welsh Administration Building and Governors Hall and just across from the recently opened Health Sciences and Learning Innovation Center.
Among the improvements at the park will be the erection of a large 20-foot sculpture depicting the VU logo with flame in the center. There will also be brick and concrete pavers created along with flower planters to preserve the natural beauty of the area. Also planned are improvements to the pedestrian crosswalks and additional walkways to improve access to nearby parking areas.
Construction is expected to be finished by the end of September 2026.
