Friday morning, November 21st, at approximately 12:25, a Plymouth Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling west on Harrison Street at 8th Street. The vehicle had crossed over the center line multiple times in the officer's view.
The driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Kevin J. Villela Fernandez of North Street in Plymouth, was found to be operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a valid driver's license.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was held for 40 minutes until his bond was paid and he was released.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
