In preparation for the advent of the shot clock in Illinois high school basketball in 2025-26, the Red Hill Unit #10 Board of Education has given the go-ahead to improvements in the Red Hill Jr/Sr High School south main gymnasium.
Over $16,000 will be spent to have new compliant scoreboards and shot clocks installed by Nebco. Four new backboards and four new rims will also be installed in the gym at a cost of around $5400.
The work will be paid for by Peoples State Bank. Also, approved were gym floor cleanings and refinishing by Allied Floor.
The board also approved the 2026 school calendar and 2025-26 district student handbooks.
In other news, t was announced that the annual Greene Family Trust student scholarship amounts have been increased. They are awarded to Unit 10 students seeking to attend college or a trade school who apply.
Since its inception, the trust has provided over $604,000 in scholarships to a total of 152 students.
