Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) voted to support the “Save SBA from Sanctuary Cities Act” (H.R. 2931) and the “American Entrepreneurs First Act” (H.R. 2966), two bills focused on ensuring federal small business aid goes to American citizens and law-abiding communities, not sanctuary cities or illegal immigrants.
“Taxpayer-funded small business aid should go to Americans who follow the law and grow our economy, not to sanctuary cities that defy it,” Rep. Yakym said. “These bills put American entrepreneurs first and ensure federal resources go where they belong.”
Background:
H.R. 2931 – The “Save SBA from Sanctuary Cities Act” requires the Small Business Administration (SBA) to relocate SBA offices out of sanctuary jurisdictions and into jurisdictions which do not limit their cooperation with federal agencies charged with immigration enforcement.
H.R. 2966 – The “American Entrepreneurs First Act” requires citizenship verification for Small Business Administration (SBA) assistance loan applications to ensure that only legal, eligible applicants—not illegal immigrants—can access SBA programs.
