Officer Baker with the Plymouth Police Department investigated two domestic battery complaints last week and made two arrests.
On Friday, July 26th city officers were dispatched to 2550 North Michigan Street, the Red Rock Inn for the report of a fight in progress.
Shortly after officers arrived, they located the suspect who was identified as 22-year-old Ryan Mata of Plymouth. Following an investigation, it was determined that a domestic battery occurred. Ryan Mata was taken into custody and booked into Marshall County Jail on a $500 cash bond.
Plymouth officers were dispatched to the Red Rock Inn again on Tuesday, July 30th for the report of a battery. The complainant said that a male identified as Jared Warner, 42, who lives at the Inn had thrown a metal cup striking a female in her leg.
Upon further investigation it was determined that a battery had occurred, and Warner was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was booked for domestic battery and held on a $500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
