Triton Elementary celebrates 96% IREAD-3 passing rate, placing school among state's topperformers

Triton Elementary School in Bourbon is celebrating a remarkable academic milestone after 96% of its students passed the IREAD-3 assessment, placing the school among an elite group of just 511 schools across Indiana to achieve a passing rate of 95% or higher.

The news gets even better. An impressive 86% of Triton Elementary's second graders also passed the assessment, making them exempt from having to take it this year. That exemption frees up valuable time and energy for teachers to focus on next-level instruction and learning, giving those students a head start on their educational journey.

Triton School Corporation Superintendent Jeremy K. Riffle called the results a true reflection of the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of the entire school community. "Every lesson, every focused read, every challenge, and every bit of encouragement has helped make this achievement possible," Riffle said.

The superintendent praised both students and staff for their accomplishment, noting that the 96% passing rate represents more than just a number. "It's a celebration of learning, growth, and Trojan PRIDE," he said.

Riffle extended his gratitude to the school's teachers and support staff, thanking them for their unwavering commitment to helping every scholar grow and succeed. "Your dedication makes a difference every single day," he said.

To the students, Riffle had a simple but powerful message: "You worked hard, and you did it! We are incredibly proud of you!"

The IREAD-3 assessment is a critical measure of early literacy skills in Indiana, designed to ensure students are reading at grade level by the end of third grade. Triton Elementary's exceptional performance highlights the school's commitment to continuous improvement and academic excellence.
