Remains found at the former Fox Hollow Farm home of Herb Baumeister have been identified as those of a Fillmore man who went missing during the 1990's.
According to a news release from the Hamilton County Coroner's Office, remains recovered in 1996 have been identified as Jeffrey Jones, of Fillmore. Jones is the third person to have been identified through remains found at the Westfield farm. Jones went missing in August 1993.
The remains of Jones were identified through extensive forensic genetic genealogy investigation, according to the release. The investigation was spearheaded by the coroner's office and the FBI.
Fox Hollow Farm was the home of Baumeister, a serial killer who police believe attracted gay men to his home before killing them and burying their bodies on his property.
Hamilton County Coroner Jeff Jellison said the investigation has been challenging due to the state of the remains.
"Because many of the remains were found burnt and crushed, this investigation is extremely challenging; however, the team of law enforcement and forensic specialists working the case remain committed," Jellison said.
