The American Red Cross is urging donors to roll up their sleeves this March to help the national blood supply recover from a severe shortage, offering special health and financial incentives for those who give.
With severe spring weather approaching, which can frequently disrupt donation events and patient care, the organization says donors of all blood types are critical to maintaining a steady blood supply in the coming months.
To encourage participation, the Red Cross is offering two special incentives for anyone who successfully donates blood, platelets, or plasma between now and March 31st: a $15 Amazon Gift Card and Free A1C Testing.
Marshall County residents will have a convenient opportunity to donate this week on Thursday, March 12th, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Plymouth Columbus Club, 901 East Jefferson St.
Appointments are highly encouraged to help prevent any future disruptions to patient care. Donors can book a time to give by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App.
Further details on the March donation offers can be found at RedCrossBlood.org/March.
