RCI construction to begin at U.S. 40 and County Road 600 E. in Hancock County

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that construction will begin on a reduced conflict intersection (RCI) at U.S. 40 and County Road 600 E. on or after Monday, August 10.

During the initial construction phase, the north leg of C.R. 600 E. will be closed for 30 days at the intersection with U.S. 40. Additionally, one lane of U.S. 40 eastbound and westbound will be closed around the intersection with C.R. 600 E.

No left turns will be allowed from U.S. 40 onto C.R. 600 E. in either direction. This restriction is in place to protect both crews and drivers, as sightlines in the area will be limited.

Motorists should stay alert for changing traffic patterns in the area and follow all traffic directions and signage carefully. Construction is expected to be complete by Christmas.
