“Steps to a Healthy You” is a 4-session class series focused on eating a healthy Mediterranean-style eating pattern (a.k.a. eating the Med Way). Sessions focus on the 7 Simple Steps to Eating the Med Way. Each session explores 1-2 simple steps, a mindfulness skill, and features Med Way recipes from www.medinsteadofmeds.com. Food demonstration and/or cooking instruction are included in each session.
Participants will increase their understanding of healthy eating concepts related to Mediterranean-style eating patterns and how to implement those into their regular eating patterns. They will also increase their confidence in selecting and preparing foods the Med Way and learn the importance of mindful eating strategies.
This program will be offered in the Life Enrichment Center, located at the Marshall County Council on Aging, 1305 West Harrison Street in Plymouth. The four-session series dates are: October 23, October 30, November 6, and November 20. The class will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Each session will focus on a new topic and cover new recipes. To register, please call the Life Enrichment Center by Oct 16th by calling 574-936-9904. A grant has sponsored this program, so there is no cost to attend; however, seats are limited, and registration is required to attend.
