Marshall County Purdue Extension is hosting a MarketReady training session from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 21 in Argos. As the state’s local food producers seek to expand into new marketing channels, this program provides the tools and resources needed to succeed in today’s marketplace.
The MarketReady program, originally developed by the University of Kentucky, will focus on enhancing essential skills such as product quality, food safety, insurance, and risk management, which are critical components for successful wholesale selling. A panel of buyers will offer insights into selling to wholesale markets.
“MarketReady equips local food producers with the knowledge and confidence to take their business to the next level,” said Sarah Hanson, Purdue Extension’s food systems coordinator. “This training helps ensure they are prepared to meet the demands of buyers while maintaining the quality of their products.”
The training will take place at Gallery on West at the Marshall County Fairgrounds, 202 West St., Argos. Registration is $50 and includes a lunch provided by Farmwise Indiana.
