Plymouth School Board to announce new superintendent Monday evening

The Plymouth Community School Corporation is set to name its next superintendent Monday night, with the Board of School Trustees scheduling both a public hearing on the proposed employment contract and a special meeting to formally announce the appointment.

The public hearing on the superintendent's contract begins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15, immediately followed by a Special Public Meeting of the Board at which the new superintendent will be announced. Both meetings will be available via livestream.

The Board is moving forward with a proposed three-year employment agreement running from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029, with a total annual contract value of $189,693.

The superintendent's annual base salary is set at $161,800, with the remainder of the package made up of additional allowances and benefits. Those include a $9,000 annuity, a $3,225 VEBA contribution, a $3,500 vehicle allowance, a $900 technology allowance, $10,000 for professional development, $468 for life insurance, and $800 for association memberships. The contract specifies that certain items — including the vehicle allowance, technology allowance, and annuity — will be paid as additional salary.

Salary increases under the agreement are performance-driven. The School Board will evaluate the superintendent annually using the same rating categories applied to teachers and other administrators: Highly Effective, Effective, Needs Improvement, or Ineffective.

A rating of Effective or Highly Effective would trigger an automatic base salary increase on July 1 of each year, equal to the highest percentage raise given to any corporation teacher under the most recent Master Contract — capped at a maximum of 4%. The Board also retains the authority to approve additional changes to salary, contributions, or allowances during its annual review.

The contract provides 40 days of paid time off annually, which the superintendent may use at their discretion as sick, personal, or vacation days. All generally recognized holiday breaks provided to school staff under the district calendar are also included.
