A Thursday morning traffic stop by Officer Fase with the Plymouth Police Department resulted in the arrest of a Plymouth man who was suspended and operating without ever obtaining a driver’s license.
Just after 1 a.m. on October 3rd, Officer Fase conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of East Jefferson Street for a vehicle without any working tail lights.
During the investigation, it was determined that the driver, Diego Rafael Cortes, 26, of Plymouth, had never been issued a valid driver's license. It was also determined that Cortes was operating with a 5-year suspension out of Wisconsin.
Diego Cortes was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on charges of driving while suspended with a prior, as well as operator never licensed with a prior conviction.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
