Plymouth Police arrested two individuals over the weekend on outstanding warrants.
On Saturday, September 26th, at 9:45 p.m., Corporal Ben McIntyre arrested 35-year-old Jonathan R. Scwartz of North Judson during a traffic stop. Scwartz was taken into custody without incident on a felony stalking warrant out of LaPorte County. He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail to await extradition to LaPorte County.
On Monday afternoon, September 28th, Patrolman Thornton received information and a location for a subject with multiple warrants. City officers arrived in the Mill Pond area and located 46-year-old Michael Lee Pittman, of Nursery Street in Plymouth, and placed him into custody on a failure-to-appear warrant from another county.
Pittman was transported and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for the warrants.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
