Tuesday evening, July 22nd, at 5:45 p.m., the Plymouth Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 9,000 Sycamore Road. Don Kindt owns the property.
A metal pole barn had an internal fire, and when firefighters arrived, smoke was coming from all around the building.
The Plymouth Fire Department sent Plymouth 17, Medic 3, Engine 7, Tanker 4, and Tanker 6 to the scene. They also requested mutual aid with a tanker from the Culver Fire Department and Polk Township Fire.
The crew with Engine 7 made entry into the barn and extinguished the fire within a few minutes, so the tankers from Culver and Polk Township were canceled before they arrived on scene.
There was fire and heat damage to a tractor, ATV, and other farm equipment. The entire pole barn sustained heavy smoke damage.
No one was at the scene when the fire started, and no injuries were reported.
