Bryan Ames, Band Director at Plymouth High School is super proud of his band kids. ISSMA has officially announced the 2023-24 recipients of the "All-Music Award."
Ames said, “This award is for programs who achieve the highest standards in all facets of the music program. To earn this award for band, you must earn Gold Award ratings at ISSMA events for Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Concert Ensembles. You must also have students who qualify for the ISSMA Solo and Ensemble State Finals in both the solo and ensemble categories.”
Plymouth High School has a long-standing history of achieving this award and it is something the staff, students, parents, and school community take pride in.
Mr. Ames said, “This would be our 21st consecutive year earning this award COVID got in the way of the final step for this in the 2019-20 school year when all ISSMA events shut down. Every year this award has been offered; Plymouth has earned it.”
Dr. Cindy Wagoner started this legacy of success and had the award been offered sooner, there would have been many more years added onto this banner under her leadership.
Ames congratulated all of the PHS band members in the Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble for another year of success stories and achievements. He said, “You make teaching a great experience on a daily basis!”
